DELFT COLONY, Tulare County — October 29, 2026. Delft Colony residents have a county environmental record identifying planned repairs to both their drinking-water system and wastewater facilities. California State Clearinghouse document 2024101175, filed October 28, 2024, remains the public starting point for understanding which infrastructure improvements were proposed. This article explains the scope and what remains to be verified, rather than reporting an unconfirmed 2026 construction completion.

What would change at the drinking-water facilities?

The county plan describes well-site cleanup, operating and exercising valves, and flushing fire hydrants. Proposed improvements include replacing well pumps, chlorine-feed components and hydro-tank air controllers. At Well Site 2, the water-storage tank was identified for inspection, cleaning and repairs where necessary, along with new tank-level monitoring and booster-pump upgrades.

What about sewage treatment?

The same countywide program identifies the Delft Colony wastewater treatment facilities for treatment-pond dewatering, sludge removal, replacement of aging aerators and rehabilitation of supply-water equipment. Other actions include sewer-system jetting and vacuuming, lift-pump replacement, sewer-camera inspection and monitoring upgrades. Similar work is described for separate facilities serving other unincorporated Tulare County communities.

How is the project funded?

According to the filing, the rehabilitation program was supported by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. The project specifically says the improvements are intended to maintain and rehabilitate existing facilities without expanding their permitted capacity. That distinction means it should not be presented as a new subdivision water system or as proof that additional homes have been approved.

Is the tap water safe today?

The filing does not contain a current household water-quality test or a real-time boil-water notice. Residents should obtain the latest consumer confidence information, operator notices and any applicable public-health orders before drawing conclusions about present water safety. Likewise, an environmental exemption is not a signed completion report.

What should Delft Colony residents request?

Ask Tulare County which improvements have been completed, which remain funded, what inspections were performed at Well Site 2, and whether the water system has a current monitoring and maintenance schedule. The county Resource Management Agency is listed at (559) 624-7000; a project contact named in the original notice is Gary Mills.
